An Elvis Chanukah
This video is not Chanukah-related, but I think it's really cool.
A tallit-and-tefillin-wearing woman in a traditional Conservative synagogue?! An unorthodox—and non-orthodox—perspective on Jews and Judaism from a perpetual misfit. This blog, welcoming the entire Jewish community, is dedicated to those who take Judaism seriously, but not necessarily literally.

Once upon a time, I belonged to a left-wing egalitarian Conservative synagogue, where I was one of a number of women who wore a tallit—and one of the few members who used an Orthodox prayer book (adding the Mothers, of course). Having moved since then, I now belong to a right-wing traditional Conservative synagogue, where I’m almost always the only woman wearing a tallit—and one of the few members who adds the Mothers. I seem destined to be forever . . . on the fringe.

Today's the last day of Chanukah and I was tickled to hear and see the videos you posted. Out side of the NY area it is really difficult to find any Chanukah spirit. It's seems to be getting more and more difficult, also to find anything on network tv. I found myself watching "anything" that even mentioned Chanukah even though I thought the "Goldbergs" episode a bit offensive. I was really pleased and surprised to find a latke cooking segment on Megyn Kelly and then a bit on Judge Ruchie Freier this week.
Hope your holiday was filled with simcha!
Jeanne, I remember from my childhood in South Jersey that our only television options for Christmas Eve were either St. Pat's or St. Pete's--midnight masses were the only "shows" being broadcast--so I sympathize. Glad you enjoyed the videos.
